We are currently hiring a for an Assistant County Highway Engineer!

Location: Muskegon, MI

The Muskegon County Road Commission is looking for a motivated civil engineer to join our team as an Assistant County Highway Engineer. You’ll help plan, design, and maintain county roads, bridges, and infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, designing, and managing highway and bridge projects.
• Apply civil engineering principles to county roadway systems, drainage, and materials.
• Prepare reports, estimates, and project documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn county highway systems, construction, and maintenance practices.
• Strong communication skills.
• Michigan P.E. licensure preferred, or ability to obtain within one year.

We are currently hiring for a Diesel Mechanic!

The Muskegon County Road Commission is looking for a highly skilled mechanic to maintain and repair heavy construction equipment, trucks, diesel engines, small tractors, and more.

Pay: $24.10 to $27.53 per hour.
